Lynx Camp

I created these animations at the University of Colorado Denver at a Summer camp in 2024. I used Adobe Animate, Adobe After Effects, Procreate, and Maya. There is a self portrait animation, a walking cycle, a girl falling asleep, a bouncing squirrel/bouncing ball animation, and a fun animation of a bee being eaten by a flower. I learned a lot of important animation basics at this camp, and learned how to work in a social setting.

Torn Apart

This project was an assignment for a class, and began with me wanting to create a mixed media animation, inspired by new media artists.

As I created it, the story came through.  I was a character, breaking out of my confines. As I drew on the color, it became a story of gender confines and self acceptance and breaking into something new. The character was boxed in pink, and was set on fire by the distress this caused. The fire turned into blue sadness when the character resigned to a fate of always being in these boxes, whether they are feminine or masculine. But then, things take a turn for the better. It’s green at the character’s idea to break free, but also yellow at their unease. Escaping is an uncomfortable experience, exposing parts of the character that they would rather not show. But, they accept who they are, and the insecurities turn into wings. These wings protect them as they tear everything apart, and they escape from everything, the box, the paper, the entire video.

Leaf Witch

In the fall of 2024, I shadowed an animation student at RISD. The topic and project of the class for that day was pixilation animation. We watched examples and learned about the style, then were set free to create our own versions. We spent the entire day creating this, and this was my first experience working in a team to create an animation.

Beau

Beau is a hand drawn animation that I created in February 2024. My original name for it was "The Treatment of Beauty," later shortened to Beau, the character's name. It is meant to show how we commonly act towards beauty standards and trends as a society. We put these beautiful things and people on a pedestal, and then tear them down when we decide they are no longer what we want.

Mellow Crow Intro

I recently created this animation in Blender for a way to introduce my company at the start of short films that I create. I made this specifically for my film Game Face, which is being played in the Lux Film Productions screening at Regal. You can read more about Game Face on my Film page, once it is released to Youtube.

Doot

Doot is a character that I designed to represent big, clumsy feelings. He is a representation of feeling out of place, and especially has a connection to my gender, in being trans. He is the elephant in the room, trying so hard to stay out of the way.

Campers and Creatures

In the summers, I co-lead a Dungeons and Dragons camp for kids aged 10-14, called Campers and Creatures. We teach the kids how to play, and all collaborate together to create unique stories. I created this animation for the website and for advertisement.
