Texturing (and my terrible computer)

Apparently, as stated in the title, my computer is terrible. I was very excited to use Adobe texture paint to texture my characters. But once anything was imported in, it looked like this:

To be clear, this not what it's supposed to look like. Even at the lowest resolution, my computer could not handle it. So, I had to do my texturing in Blender with nodes, my new hell. Sculpting the character was so nice and mindless, but now I have to think and pay attention. Goodbye to the days of getting to work on this during class.
My original idea for texturing was to make the characters look like watercolor, as you can see in one of my earlier posts. I applied colors and enlisted the help of Kai in order to use the nodes. I rendered out a short animation to show this attempted watercolor texture, a feat that almost ended my computer.
If you look close, you should see something that looks like a bunch of moving smudges on Calla's skin. At 3AM when this finished rendering, I decided that I hated it and nodes.

I do not understand why people like these. This is a simple node thingy too, the more complex ones look evil.
Trying to make the watercolor texture was making me too mad, so I gave up. I might try it again later, but I have created a toon shader now and I'm not sure if the texture is necessary.

It's hard to see in this images, but her wings also glow. I am currently experimenting with this shading on the other character, as I would like Wren's jacket and shoes to stay shiny.
My computer feels like it's going to explode whenever I work on this project.
