Blender - 3D Modeling

Luckily, I already have some experience with modeling in Blender. Otherwise, I would be completely lost. In the past, I have gotten part way through modeling an OC of mine, named V.
Over break and for the past few weeks, I have nearly modeled three different things. One, the setting, two, Calla (the fairy), and three, Wren (the witch). I believe I have improved drastically from the example above.
So far, Wren is the only character with hair. It is annoyingly difficult to model, as I have discovered. In V's model, the hair was fairly simple as they have short messy hair. Wren and Calla are more difficult since they have longer hair.

Attempt one for the hair got out of hand, to say the least. Attempt two took forever, and also failed.

My third attempt, however, worked much better. This is likely because I took ten seconds to design exactly how the hair should go. I found the back of my math test to be the perfect place for this.

For a better frame of reference, here are full body shots of Calla ad Wren so far:

Yes, I am aware that Calla's face is slightly alien like. Yes, I am aware that she also has only four fingers and four toes. These details were brought into question a lot when I showed people her model. I considered changing some features, but she is a fairy. I am not making this animation and these characters based on the expectations of others. Also, she's a fairy. Not a human. That being said, I do likely have some more work to do on her face. But, I am hoping hair will help this issue.

Over break, my project was the modeling of Calla's toes (which we will not be getting into) and the creation of the setting. You have already seen my concept art of the setting, and I have gotten part way into recreating it in 3D.
I am planning on creating some more trees, and drawing the background in 2D. But, my main focus for the next few weeks is the characters. I need to finish modeling, remesh them, relearn how to texture paint, and completely learn how to rig them. The furthest I have ever gotten is texture paint, without remeshing. Once I have this and the setting, I believe I can begin to animate. I am planning one having a slight watercolor texture, but I'm not sure when this step comes in. I have a lot of work to do for this project, but I am looking forward to the challenge.
